The list holds 29,458 channels, 3,188 of them Nordic. We do not publish a list of named sports channels, because rights move between broadcasters every season. Ask in the chat for the current list, and check your channels during the test.

How the sports channels are organised

The channel list is grouped by country, and within each country sport has its own group. On big days there are event channels too, opened for a single tournament or race weekend and closed again afterwards.

In TiviMate and IPTV Smarters you can hide the groups you never watch and mark your channels as favourites, so the guide opens on sport.

Nordic sport

Each Nordic country has its own sports channels, and the Nordic part of the list follows that shape: Swedish, Norwegian, Danish and Finnish sport in separate groups, with commentary in the country's own language.

This is where Allsvenskan, Eliteserien, Superligaen, Veikkausliiga, the SHL and Liiga are usually found, along with handball, speedway and winter sport. Rights change hands every few seasons, so which channel shows which league moves too.

International sport

The international groups carry the big European football leagues, the Champions League, the NHL, Formula 1, tennis, golf, cycling and combat sports. Commentary follows the channel: a British feed comes with English commentary, a German one with German.

4K sports channels: what actually exists

Most sport is produced and broadcast in HD, so HD is what reaches you too. 4K exists for selected football, Formula 1 and major events. Nobody can turn an HD broadcast into real 4K.

A 4K stream needs at least 20 Mbit/s, a 4K TV and a device that decodes 4K at 50 frames per second. Cheaper sticks play HD smoothly and stutter in 4K, and fast sport is where they give up first.

Most players show the guide in the device's own time zone. If kick-off looks an hour out, the EPG offset in the player fixes it; the TiviMate section shows where to find it.

Before you order

If one competition matters more than the rest, ask in the chat which channels carry it right now, then confirm it during the test. That is a better guide than any list on a sales page, ours included.

Questions and answers

How many sports channels are included?

We do not count sports channels separately, because event channels come and go. The full list is 29,458 channels, 3,188 of them Nordic, and every plan includes all of them.

Can you promise a specific sports channel?

No, and be wary of anyone who does. Rights change between seasons. Ask in the chat for the current list before paying, and check your channels during the test.

Is there sport in 4K?

For selected football, Formula 1 and major events, yes. Most sport is broadcast in HD at source, so it arrives in HD.

Which language is the commentary in?

The channel's own. Nordic channels carry Nordic commentary; international feeds usually come with English or the broadcaster's language.
