Live sport on IPTV: buffering, delay and 4K explained
Why live sport stutters when films do not, why the neighbours cheer first, and what 4K really needs. A match-day checklist for any IPTV setup.
The Premier League is the most-watched foreign league in every Nordic country. Here is when the matches start, why you can see more of them than fans in England, and how to choose a way to watch.

A 15:00 kick-off in England is 16:00 in Sweden, Norway and Denmark and 17:00 in Finland. The Saturday 15:00 broadcasting ban applies only in the UK, so many more matches are shown live in the Nordics. Rights holders differ by country and change over time: compare total cost, devices and screens before you choose.
| In England | Sweden, Norway, Denmark | Finland |

| 12:30 | 13:30 | 14:30 |
| 15:00 | 16:00 | 17:00 |
| 17:30 | 18:30 | 19:30 |
| 20:00 | 21:00 | 22:00 |
The UK and the Nordic countries change clocks on the same weekends, so the difference stays the same all season, from August to May.
In the UK, no match kicking off between 14:45 and 17:15 on a Saturday may be broadcast live. The rule protects attendance at lower-league grounds, and it applies only inside the UK.
In the Nordics there is no such rule, so the Saturday 15:00 matches are shown live too. A Nordic fan can usually follow far more of a round than someone in Manchester.
Add up what you pay for football today, for a whole year, and compare it with the alternatives. If the Premier League is the only thing you watch, the rights holder's own service may be the cheapest. If you also follow the Champions League, hockey or Formula 1, the sum often looks different. The comparison page has a step-by-step version.
Nordic streaming apps usually block live sport outside their own country, apart from temporary trips inside the EU. If you live in Spain or Thailand, an IPTV subscription that works in any country is the common solution. The abroad page has the time differences.
